David Horwood is Director & Vice President – Residential of The Effort Trust Company, a Real Estate and Financial Services enterprise based in Hamilton, Ontario. Effort Trust develops and manages multi-family communities, retail centers and office/industrial properties throughout Ontario, with a focus on Hamilton-Burlington, Kitchener – Waterloo, and Niagara regions. Currently, the multi-family portfolio of Effort Trust includes over 10,000 dwelling units under David’s direction, and another 8 million sf of commercial property.
In addition to management of the residential portfolio, David has functional responsibility for Utilities Management and Risk Management for Effort Trust’s entire portfolio of over 15 million square feet of investment property. Currently, David is an Advisor to CryptoGlobal Corp., sits on the Boards of McMaster University and the Federation of Rental Housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO) where he named to their Executive Committee and is a Past Chairman.
